BORN FROM MOVEMENT
SOMEA began with a question:
If we are intentional about what we put in our bodies, on our skin and throughout our homes, why aren't we asking the same questions about what we wear?
For founder Bianca Marina Emde, that question came from years spent in movement.
As a tennis instructor, pilates and yoga teacher, and breath & sound healer, Bianca spent countless hours teaching, training and living in activewear. As her relationship with wellness deepened, so did her awareness of the materials she surrounded herself with. From the products she used to the clothing sitting directly against her skin through heat, sweat and movement.
So she started looking at the labels.
Polyester. Nylon. Conventional elastane.
The same petroleum-derived synthetics appeared again and again, even in activewear marketed as sustainable.
She wanted another option.
WHEN SHE COULDN'T FIND IT,
SHE CREATED IT
The goal was never simply to make another activewear brand.
It was to reconsider what activewear could begin with.
Something soft enough to live in. Technical enough to train in. Elevated enough to exist beyond the studio.
And above all, made with greater intention from the fiber forward.
That search eventually led to a fabric built predominantly from TENCEL™ Lyocell, a eucalyptus-derived cellulosic fiber, paired with next-generation bio-based stretch.
A material that aligned more closely with the way Bianca already approached the rest of her life:
Question what surrounds you. Understand where it comes from. Choose better where better is possible.
SOMEA grew from there.

ROOTED IN NATURE
Our connection to nature extends beyond our fabric.
The SOMEA symbol was designed as a visual interpretation of 84 MHz, a frequency associated with eucalyptus within energetic and vibrational traditions.
The spiral represents energy in motion: expansion, rhythm, movement and our connection back to the natural world.
Eucalyptus also holds a deeper connection to our story as one of the botanical sources associated with the wood-based cellulose used to create TENCEL™ Lyocell.
The symbol became a meeting point between the material and the philosophy behind SOMEA.
A reminder that what we wear can be considered with the same intention as how we move, what we consume and how we care for ourselves.
